Overwatch Second Anniversary Off Free Weekend

Overwatch Starts Second Anniversary Off Strong with Free Weekend

The world could always use more heroes, and following Overwatch’s second anniversary, the game will embrace this with its upcoming free weekend.

Players will be able to download and play the game, getting the chance to assemble epic teams with the full roster of 27 heroes. At the same time, they will be able to earn Loot Boxes, level up and unlock many customization options for their favourite heroes.

Whether players are on PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, they will also get to dive right into battle in the 18 available maps in Quick Play, Custom Games, and Arcade mode. While Quick Play allows players to dive into a game and duke it out against other players of similar skill, the Custom Game mode lets everyone play against either friend or AI with a set of customized rules. The Arcade features alternate game modes with different sets of rules and restrictions.

However players choose to jump in on the action, from assembling a team of heroes to take on assault maps like Hanamura and Volskaya Industries, escort maps like Dorado and Junkertown, or control maps like Nepal and Lijiang Tower, new memories will be made and the skills of new and old players will be tested as the player base will increase during the event.

The free weekend will begin on May 25 at 11:00 a.m. PT and end on May 28 at 11:59 p.m. across all participating regions. For PC players, however, the free weekend will only be available to the Americas, Europe, and Asia regions.

Any progress made during the free weekend will be kept by the players and be accessible should they purchase the full release.
