Fortnite Takes the Battle Sky High with $100 Million in eSports Contributions

With Season 4 of Fortnite’s ever-popular, Battle Royale mode coming to an end, fans are already anticipating the release of Season 5, but what about those who are unfamiliar with how seasons work in Fortnite? We’re here to explain just that and why a battle pass might be a worthy investment, especially for those serious about playing Fortnite.

Essentially, battle passes give access to a plethora of cosmetic items and currency that allows players to purchase and unlock additional aesthetically pleasing gear. Battle passes are directly tied to a season, which consists of 10 weeks, with each week, prompting players with a unique challenge tied to the pass. In other words, a battle pass gives players exclusive access to bonus cosmetic gear that can be earned in any given season.

Those worried about time, or not being able to complete enough challenges, should note that currency earned from previous events carry over, meaning that all accumulated points can be used to unlock new gear, making things a little bit more fair and stress-free.

Details surrounding Season 5 are currently still rather scarce, however, Epic has been hinting heavily at some of the themes that may show up when it does launch. With the latest teaser, being a Kitsune Japanese style mask.
