After all the hype, leaks, and internet predictions,Fortnite OG’ or Fortnite Chapter 4 – Season 5 is finally here and Epic Games has given fans all the official details of the season.

With the latest update, fans can jump into (or back into) the original Chapter 1 where it all began for Fortnite‘s Battle Island in Fortnite OG. The official running title is “Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season OG” and this shortened season will have a runtime of approximately one month starting with Chapter 1 – Season 5 of the original Fortnite map, and will evolve as the season wears on. This means shopping carts and the iconic pump shotgun will be available to combatants. It’s notable that not just Battle Royale is experiencing changes, the Zero Build queue is also. Epic Games has released a trailer for the season and it can be seen below.

As was leaked a few days ago, the battle pass for Fortnite OG will cost 950 V-Bucks, but fans should note they can earn up to 1,000 V-Bucks by progressing in the OG Pass, allowing them to grab the next pass when it launches free of charge, the OG Pass is of course included with the Fortnite Crew Subscription.

The OG Pass is as rumoured, 50 tiers for the smaller season as opposed to the usual 100 to cater to the smaller month-long OG season. Fans can explore the original Battle Island as Epic Games initially intended, with the returning point of interest Tilted Towers present on Battle Island until Season 9, and other iconic locations like Greasy Grove and Risky Reels.

Each week, Fortnite OG will update the island with a myriad of changes starting with Chapter 1 – Season 5 and evolving between seasons 5 and 10. Some additions will persist throughout the season and others will fade after a short week. Fans looking to engage in the most nostalgia, or those who haven’t played since 2018 should jump in as soon as possible to see Fortnite in its original Fortnite OG form. Vaulted items such as the Grappler, Boogie Bomb and Damage Trap will be available, as well as the base forms of the Assault Rifle and Hunting Rifle.

For longtime Fortnite fans, the Fortnite item shop is also rehauling its offerings with some really rare stuff not normally found, mashups of older skins, and even some brand new items will be on display so it might be worth checking out if you’re in the menus between matches.

Fortnite OG is well underway now so fans can jump into the action on any platform. Fans can also visit the Epic Games site for more information. Combatants should be advised the Fortnite OG season will end on December 2nd, so fans on the fence should jump in right away.
