Orphan Black is set to return seven years after the original finale, and we have an Orphan Black: Echoes release date for the US.
AMC has recently announced that Orphan Black: Echoes, created by Anna Fishko as a spin-off to Orphan Black, will be premiering on June 23 for the US audience after being released in Australia five months earlier. Krysten Ritter, known for her role as Jane in Breaking Bad and starring in the Marvel Jessica Jones series, will be in the lead role for Orphan Black: Echoes, playing Lucy, who has awakened from a procedure with no memories of who she is.
The original series followed Sarah, a street-wise woman with a troubling past who would live in foster homes before being taken in with her foster brother, Felix, to North America. Sarah tries to do the best for her daughter Kira but eventually witnesses the suicide of Beth, who looks just like her. Sarah steals Beth’s life to start a new life for herself and Kira but soon finds out that Beth is her clone and a cop part of a conspiracy, making Sarah the next target as she must survive to live another day.
Orphan Black: Echoes is set decades after the events of Orphan Black. From AMC’s description, the story follows a group of women as they come into each other lives and set off on a journey to uncover the mystery of their identity with a wrenching story about love and betrayal.
The cast features Keeley Hawes (Netflix Original: Bodyguard), Amanda Fix (High School), Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap), James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry), and Rya Kihstedt (Home Alone 3) as the primary cast for Orphan Black: Echoes. Alongside the new cast, original cast members from Oprhan Black will be returning as guests, with Jordan Gavaris reprising Felix Dawkins and Evelyn Brochu as Dr. Delphine Cormier.
Originally, Orphan Black: Echoes was available on Stan, a streaming service from Australia, but luckily the fans of the Orphan Black series won’t have to wait too long with Orphan Black: Echoes premiering on June 23 for AMC, AMC+, and BBC America to the US audience.
