Animal Crossing: New Horizons Turkey Day Reminder

One Thanksgiving Day Only... Unless You Time Travel

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Turkey Day Reminder 1

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have celebrated most holidays through in-game events, the same is true for American Thanksgiving as Nintendo is celebrating the holiday in an event called ‘Turkey Day’.

Just like last year, Turkey Day is a one-day-only event in the game that’s running from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET. If you have time in between cooking, or you’re relaxing this holiday, maybe it’s a good day to go back to the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Players will meet a special turkey NPC, Franklin, who was invited by Tom Nook to cook food for the Island neighbors. They will be cooking up their own meals at their own home stations. The event officially starts after talking to Franklin.

As always you won’t be sitting on your hands and feet as Franklin needs your help to put his feast of meals together. The main activity of the event is a scavenger hunt where you must find ingredients for Franklin’s Turkey Day recipes, which includes picking up items like pumpkins, clams, fish and more. If you’re struggling or just want to make it easier, you can trade ingredients with your villagers. Any recipes completed you will get and will be sent to your Nookphone.

If you were at last year’s Turkey event this probably sounds familiar, the difference this year is the recent 2.0 update which added a cooking feature for players. In addition, you can now grow other ingredients like tomatoes, wheat, and more, which Franklin might ask for this year. You can also bring a secret ingredient to complete a recipe which Franklin doesn’t tell you. Players will have to find out what the secret ingredient is on their own. If you need help, villagers will drop hints. Afterwards, Franklin will start cooking the meal for the Turkey Day feast.
