Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Slashes and Shies Away From Proper Game Play Reveal

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Slashes and Shies Away From Proper Game Play Reveal

Microsoft just wrapped up their Xbox Series X gameplay reveal Livestream, ending on the recently announced Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla game.

Unfortunately, despite promising debut gameplay footage, the trailer showed off for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla seemed to instead, focus on snippets of in-game cinematics, rather than actual gameplay of it in action. The minute and a half trailer although lacking in exposition compared to the initial story reveal trailer released earlier gives audiences a brief glimpse into what they can expect once the game launches.

In terms of what was actually on display, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla seems to feature gameplay elements reminiscent of Assassins Creed 3 and 4, specifically the axe and hatchet from 3 with naval skirmishes, evocative of the ocean piracy found in Black Flag.

Sadly, There isn’t much else to go by in terms of what players can expect when playing Valhalla. Many fans’ have already taken to Twitter and the Youtube comments section in order to voice their concerns at the rather, lackluster reveal trailer for what is potentially, one of the larger cross-gen games that will be available on the Xbox Series X when it launches later this year.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla was first shown off in late April of this year and promises to explore an alternate history in which Vikings have invaded England. Aptly, the game will explore Norse mythology and aesthetics, a series first for Assassin’s Creed. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will launch this holiday season on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and both the forthcoming Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
