Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who have been eagerly awaiting the next film featuring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were treated to an exciting and detailed trailer.
The official trailer dropped on YouTube, with some ominous voiceover from Robert Downey Jr., playing the iconic villain Victor Von Doom. The trailer sets a serious and dark tone for the film without giving too much away, highlighting all the heroes of the current cinematic arc coming together as Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) explains he knew heroes far stronger, who “died facing threats that scared me far less than this one.”
Avengers: Doomsday is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz. While the film seems to be a culmination of the current Phase, it’s also incorporating elements hinted at in the films or Disney+ series such as WandaVision and Deadpool and Wolverine. According to IGN, a plot summary describes “beloved heroes from three distinct universes” being set on a ‘deadly collision course.'”The film not only features The Fantastic Four and the return of the X-Men, but also showcases Channing Tatum’s Gambit and the return of Chris Evans’ Captain America.
The massive cast features Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena, with Tenoch Huerta Mejia, all reprising their roles from their various films.
Avengers: Doomsday will debut in theatres on December 18th, 2026. Tickets are now on sale for what the film is calling “Infinity Vision,” which is the new certification for Premium Large Format theatres. In addition to the trailer, Marvel also shared an all-new poster for the film featuring Doctor Doom standing in front of an ominously religious tapestry.
