Bandai Namco Announces Tales of the Rays For Mobile platforms 1

Bandai Namco has recently announced that their popular Tales of series will be hitting mobile platforms with the release of Tales of the Rays.

The upcoming title will be a free-to-play RPG that brings the intense 3-D gameplay that series veterans are accustomed to from the mainline console Tales titles to a mobile experience, promising not to cut any corners. Tales of the Rays is set to come out sometime during the Summer on both the Ios App Store and the Google Playstore as a free download.

Those familiar with the Tales of the World spin-off titles should be able to appreciate Tales of the Rays story. the game chronicles the exploits of Ix and Mileena as they explore and adventure across diverse landscapes. Like Tales of the World, Tales of the Rays has an ensemble cast comprised of key characters from previous mainline Tales of titles.  Tales of the Rays includes characters such as Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia, Asbel Lhant from Tales of Graces, and Milla Maxwell from Tales of Xillia, amongst many other prominent characters.

Yasuhiro Ikeno, the producer for Tales of the Rays had this to say in regards to the upcoming mobile game.

“We created Tales of the Rays with the intent to make it the best all-star character game ever. The story, music, and game design are handled by the very same team who brought you the Tales series on console, and the character design, voice acting, and opening animation are masterfully crafted by the hottest artists in Japan today. We’re all very happy to be able to share the amazing storytelling and 3D gameplay with you, and our hope is that you’re looking forward to the game’s release as much as we are.”

The game promises to deliver console quality graphics and gameplay while utilising the same development team responsible for the console version of some of the popular mainline Tales of games. The upcoming mobile game will also feature an all-new battle system called the Linear-Motion Battles system, a means of input that utilises the simplicity of touch screens, ensuring the game plays smoothly on smart devices.
