The CCXP22 is a celebration of the comic film industry, and this year’s events kick-off showcased highly anticipated upcoming films from the lead talent.
CCXP22 pulled out all the stops this year and slammed on the gas regarding upcoming films in the industry, anticipated by fans and industry titans alike. Day one of the event saw exclusive looks at content from a myriad of industry juggernauts such as Disney Animation, Pixar Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios and Marvel Studios. Some of which included exciting trailers, which can be seen below.

Avatar: The Way of Water at CCXP22
Reprising her role and speaking on behalf of the sequel, Zoe Saldaña accompanied by producer Jon Landau spoke briefly regarding the sequel, and discussed important plot points on the James Cameron directed epic.
While convention goers got a sneak peek at minutes of the new film, Saldaña explained “It was the new set of challenges that Jim presented to us. In the first Avatar, it was archery and horseback riding and learning how to become a Na’vi and speak like a Na’vi,” with “The second time around, we had the opportunity to refresh everything that we had learned, and then he presented a new set of challenges that were almost unimaginable,” regarding the direction of the new film.
Fans wont have to wait long for Avatar: The Way of Water, as it lands in theaters on December 16.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at CCXP22
Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige had a brand new trailer in store for fans of the MCEU of films, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s trailer which can be seen below.
The new trailer shows the first look of Will Poulter’s portrayal of Adam Warlock, and has a more somber ‘ending’ feel to it. The next chapter in the Guardians’ saga hits theatres May 5, 2023.
Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny at CCXP22
The latest Indiana Jones film was also shown off on day one, featuring a brand-new trailer that can be seen below. Featuring a whip-cladded Harrison Ford in an iconic role through many time periods.

The Mandalorian Season 3 at CCXP22
The Mandalorian himself, Pedro Pascal accompanied (virtually) by Jon Favreau explained some of the major plot points regarding the new season. The band of Din Djarin and Grogu get back together in a season set after the events of The Book of Boba Fett, and many more secrets are still to be unveiled in the Star Wars universe Pascal teased. The third season is set to land March 2023.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania at CCXP23
Marvel Studios had another trick up its sleeve with a video housing intent to build hype for the latest film in the Ant-Man series, as the MCEU takes its first steps into what the Studio calls ‘Phase 5’ of the extended universe. This video can be seen below.

CCXP22 also showed a new Disney and Pixar production, with Producer Denise Ream sharing a first look with congoers of a new film Elemental. A yin and yang story about two elementals named Ember (Leah Lewis) and Wade (Mamoudou Athie) in a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together. The fire and water elementals discover how much they actually have in common. It hits theatres in June 16, 2023
