It has been nearly a year since Dan Houser announced the formation of the new studio Absurd Ventures, and today, he has given fans another tidbit about what they’re working on.
Since the studio announced its existence, Absurd Ventures has been relatively quiet about what the company is working on. Last June, Dan Houser gave fans a sneak peek at two projects the company was working on. While American Caper and A Better Paradise are exciting multimedia developments, it was a different direction than a game studio usually goes in; with the first two Absurd Ventures projects not being games.
Today a new report has come out (first found by Eurogamer), that has revealed a new job posting on the Absurd Ventures website. Job listings have been notoriously leak-heavy in the gaming industry, with details being leaked on developer LinkedIn profile job duties descriptions ahead of releases and job listing details revealed through what will be required for the job, giving notable details on what is being developed.
This is exactly what happened today, as an Absurd Ventures job listing has let some information out on the first game that the new Dan Houser helmed developer could already be in development. The job listing posted explains, “Become the primary vision holder and hands-on contributor for character, controls, and camera design in an open-world action-adventure game.” The rest of the listing details the requirements for the job, but what’s interesting is both “melee and shooting action mechanics” will be featured.

While speculation is always fun, nothing concrete has been announced outside of the two previous projects that are billed as multi-media. Although the job listing does exist, it only confirms that Absurd Ventures is working on a new title. Fans and aspiring developers can find the job listing on the official website.
