Demon Slayer is getting a Mario Party-style game coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC this July 2024.
As the fourth season continues to ramp up this weekend, the media of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba content has no limits. The latest game Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! recently released exclusively on Nintendo Switch in April, but it has now been announced that it will be coming to other consoles and PC this summer. The Mario Party-style game will be released in North America and Europe on July 16, 2024.
Players will be able to take on the main Demon Slayer Corps, people like Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the Hashira! Similar to the show, Nezuko appears on the game board as a support character to help players. Players roll dice as they navigate through various party maps, much like any Mario Party game. The difference is that the game board changes between day and night. During the day, you prepare for the night with events and mini-games. At night, you search for demons to defeat.
Iconic locations from the anime, such as Mt. Fujikasane and Asakusa, appear as maps in this game. As a special treat, those who pre-order digitally before launch will receive the base game and a set of four stamps—used for in-game player communication—featuring Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke. Pre-orders also include three Premium Tickets that can be exchanged for in-game rewards. Physical editions are also on their way for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game is heavily inspired by the 2019 anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The series follows Tanjiro Kamada, who strives to become a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps. to find a cure for his demon sister and avenge his slaughtered family.
Kanao Tsuyuri, pictured below, will be added to the game in a free update this summer alongside Genya Shinazugawa. Here is a list of all current playable characters:
