Today Gameloft revealed Disney Dreamlight Valley, an upcoming free-to-play life-simulation adventure game.
In Dreamlight Valley, players can create their personalized avatar and embark on an enchanting journey alongside some of the most beloved characters from Disney and Pixar films. For those wanting to experience Disney Dreamlight Valley early, they can get Early Access to it with the purchase of a Founders Pack or by being an Xbox Game Pass subscriber before the game’s launch in 2023.
Once players arrive in the world of Dreamlight Valley, they will embark on a journey to restore a once-idyllic village that is now desolate and full of Night Thorns after a mysterious event called The Forgetting. Players are tasked with uncovering the mysterious secrets that led them to this new world while exploring all the different realms that are inspired by Disney and Pixar’s worlds, all while helping the inhabitants of the town recover their memories.
In this experience, players will meet and help with building their friendships with the characters from Mickey & Friends, Disney’s The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Moana, Pixar’s Toy Story, and more. The game has activities like whipping up delectable Disney-themed dishes with Remy from Ratatouille inside the player’s own village restaurant to fishing with Goofy, and growing vegetables from WALL-E’s garden patch.
Players will also be able to design their own Disney and Pixar villages across multiple unique biomes. These range from the snowy mountains of the Frosted Heights to the Peaceful Meadow. Players will also find lots of customization options to indulge in for their avatars, homes, and villages. However, eager fans will have to wait to play the game for themselves to see what they are. What is known though is that the game will feature an ever-growing list of Disney-princess-inspired ballgowns, Mickey-inspired clothing, and Frozen-inspired kitchen designs fit for a princess living in the Arctic.
“Disney Dreamlight Valley will give our fans the opportunity to write their own story and build their ideal Disney and Pixar life within a richly detailed world populated with characters from some of Disney’s most iconic stories,” the V.P. of Disney and Pixar games, Luigi Priore. “We are excited to hear feedback from our audience throughout the development of this title as we collaborate with the talented team at Gameloft to bring Disney Dreamlight to life.”
Dreamlight Valley will launch in 2023 as a free-to-play title and will be available on all current-gen platforms including the Mac and Xbox One, which are actually considered to be part of the last generation. For those looking to give more information and possibly looking to give that requested feedback, they can do so here. Fans can also join the conversation on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
