Will Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Come Out in 2024? Claims Say Yes

Hopefully No More Dreadful Delays

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Will Be Out This Year, Says Claims 1

Recent talks of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’s release date impending this year was held in high regard, due to recent talks with industry experts.

As the gaming industry continues to shift and restructure, some hopeful news is on the horizon—no, this is not a new Horizon game announcement. Instead, there have been recent talks about the much anticipated game release of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. According to Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, he claimed that there should be something shown “sometime in the summer.”

Grubb spoke with Game Mess Decides podcast with co-host Mike Minotti, “I suspect (Dragon Age: Dreadwolf) will probably pop up in the summer. I don’t know when it’ll be shown, but I assume it’ll be shown sometime this summer.” The game has been in creation-limbo since 2022, when it was first teased. However, the project has undergone many names since 2015, following the success of Dragon Age: Inquisition the year prior. But, there were many cancellations and delays since then.

“It will be released this year, last I heard. [EA] are pretty confident about that. That doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee; it could slip, but right now, internally, they expect to release it later this year.” Grubb said on the potential release window for this sequel game. EA originally teased a “full reveal” from the teaser they released in December 2023, that more details around the game is scheduled for summer 2024.

Will Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Come Out In 2024, Claims Say Yes

Last October, BioWare general manager Gary McKay said that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf had reached alpha status and was playable “from the opening scenes of the first mission to the very end.” He included that the team was focused on the game’s pacing, the various relationships that players will have with other characters, as well as “narrative cohesion.” It seems like the game is on a steady track, as gameplay recently leaked last month, showing off a first look into the upcoming RPG.

Despite BioWare’s layoffs of around 50 employees back in August, it looks like the confidence of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf coming out this year is abundant. The layoffs were supposedly not directly linked to the development of the Dragon Age sequel but for the purpose of moving Star Wars: The Old Republic to a new partner development studio, Broadsword Online Games.
