Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Trailer Hints at Dark Secrets & Unseen Worlds

More Details Coming Summer 2024

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Gets New Trailer as Bioware Promises Details Summer 2024

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf saw a new trailer today, giving a glimpse of the game long in development, with a promise of more coming in the summer of 2024. The 50-second trailer, released by BioWare on December 4th in honour of Dragon Age Day, offered the first substantial look at Dreadwolf since its announcement over five years ago at the 2018 Game Awards.

While light on story details and major visual hints, the moody trailer provided glimpses of some iconic locations across the Dragon Age world of Thedas that have been often referenced in previous games, including the secretive nation of Rivain, the headquarters of the Grey Wardens at Weisshaupt Fortress, and the assassin-ruled country of Antiva.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Gets New Trailer As Bioware Promises Details Summer 2024

The Dragon Age: Dreadwolf trailer gave hints of what to expect from the game, with narration by several mysterious voices representing the different people and factions of the game’s universe. The trailer’s visuals and cryptic voiceovers suggest Dreadwolf will expand the scope and explore the rich lore of Dragon Age, as well as explore more regions of the game only talked about in previous entries.

Most excitingly, the end of the trailer announced that the “full reveal” of Dreadwolf will be coming in summer 2024, over six years after the game was first teased. This likely points to a release date sometime in late 2024 after the full reveal, although that is pure speculation at this point. Fans are already reacting to the latest details and seem excited about the prospect of more coming soon-ish.

The new trailer follows years of troubled development for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, with high-profile staff departures and rumours of internal struggles over the game’s design direction. However, the substantial new teaser shows that, despite its extended development, Dreadwolf remains a highly anticipated next chapter in BioWare’s acclaimed fantasy saga.

While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the brief new look offers an enticing taste of the new regions, characters, and political intrigue players can expect when the Dreadwolf finally rises. With Summer Game Fest now being the defacto event of the summer for gaming, the ‘Summer 2024’ detail tease could mean players will hear more when that event takes place in June of next year.

While no firm release date has been set for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, the recent trailer and the tease of more things to come means we are inching closer to fans finally being able to dive into the dark fantasy lands once again.
