EA Sports WRC Rallies DiRT Developers In Latest Game 1

Codemasters and the DiRT developers will be bringing a whole new dynamic rally experience with EA Sports WRC.

The FIA World Rally Championship has a new competitor in the gaming world: EA SPORTS WRC. It is the same developers, Codemasters, who are behind the popular DiRT Rally series and bring over 25 years of rally racing experience. Pre-orders are available today, offering players five VIP Rally Passes for access to additional post-launch content, livery and apparel packs, and up to three days of early access starting October 31, 2023.

The Senior Creative Director at Codemasters shared his thoughts on the new EA SPORTS WRC game, “EA SPORTS WRC is the purest form of motorsport where every stage is a fight against the clock, the terrain, and yourself. The game’s new engine has enabled us to push rally to the edge of what’s deemed possible, and the additional features, including Builder and Moments, give players even more ways to interact with the sport they love.”

Sim racing enthusiasts will be happy to know that this game combines the hottest video game engines right now, Unreal Engine, with the physics of the DiRT Rally series. All of this technology has allowed the team to create 18 official FIA World Rally Championship locations and over 600km of unforgiving asphalt, gravel and snow stages. In terms of cars, the game is said to feature 10 current WRC, WRC2 and Junior WRC vehicles and 68 of the most iconic rally cars spanning 60 years of the sport.

Ea Sports Wrc Rallies Dirt Developers In Latest Game 2

Codemasters has worked with official WRC teams and car manufacturers like Ford, Toyota, and Hyundai, even introducing the hybrid-powered 4WD Rally1 cars. These cars are built fast and tough, able to tackle gravity-defying jumps, deteriorating surfaces, and adverse weather. The developers will also be introducing what is known as the advanced Dynamic Handling System, which gives players the most realistic off-road experience they can get. The research was taken from input provided by former FIA Junior WRC title contender and 2023 FIA European Rally Championship ERC3 champion, and game designer Jon Armstrong.

This system allows players to essentially fine-tune their car to the handling they want for the weather required. The Builder feature also allows players to build their very own modern-era rally car. This means customizing the chassis, body shells, and all-important mechanical parts before customizing the interior and exterior. EA SPORTS WRC will have really fans pitted against one another in 32-player cross-platform multiplayer, allowing for competition between friends and the wider rally community.

EA SPORTS WRC will be officially out on November 3, 2023, on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the EA App, Epic Store, and Steam. Check out the trailer now out today!
