D3 Publisher Inc. just announced that Earth Defense Force 5 will be hitting western markets on the PS4 this fall.

The game follows its initial launch in Japan. In Earth Defense Force 5, players fight against hordes of aliens in order to save Earth. These hostile and invading insects will put each player’s courage and wisdom to the test as well. Players must use their weapons and allies to not only fight these invaders in an all-out war, but also new humanoid aliens from a mysterious planet Primer.

Earth Defense Force 5 also features over 100 new missions, over 1,000 usable arms, online co-op mode with a maximum of four players, as well as a two-player co-op mode with a split-screen.

As of now, the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition of the game can be pre-ordered at the PlayStation Store.

The Deluxe Edition of Earth Defense Force 5 will give players full access to future DLCs, weapons, support arms, and even exclusive missions.
