Enjoy Some Giger-eqsue Adventuring Courtesy of Tormentum 1

You begin this tale in a cage suspended beneath a rotten dirigible. Visions of a forest of human hands are all you can remember as you drift into lands unknown. A world inspired by the work of H.R. Giger and Zdzislaw Beksinski awaits with twisted imitations of decayed creatures melded with masonry. Tormentum is an unpleasant point and click adventure, to say the least. Amusingly, this team’s first project together was an interactive children’s book.

Tormentum is intended to present the classic adventure formula wreathed in atmosphere. The pretty – or rather, horrid and miserable – hand drawn backgrounds hold things to click and investigate. Some of these may require the grotesque trinkets you’ve stowed in your knapsack, others perhaps asking you to solve arcane logic puzzles. These sorts of actions will inevitably propel the story forward, delving you further into your bid to uncover what the heck is going on.

They’re currently hosting an Indiegogo effort to buy them their undivided attention to the project. If you’d like to see Tormentum happen, how does $9 USD for a copy of the completed game sound? Alternatively, $350 will buy the reproduction of your likeness as a desiccated corpse. I’m sure it’d be flattering.
