Flintlock Gets a Bombastic New Gameplay Trailer

A44 Games and Kepler Interactive have released a lengthy new gameplay trailer for Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn.

The over five-minute trailer dives into many of the diverse locales seen in Flintlock, and gives us our best look yet at the game’s combat. Flintlock is a Souls-like that gives players a variety of abilities to use, including melee weapons, magic, and guns.

At the same time, players are accompanied by an adorable fox-like creature named Enki that assists during combat. Enki has magical abilities that let him teleport around the battlefield and launch attacks at enemies. The trailer gives a good idea of how Enki’s abilities can be used in tandem with normal attacks to create dynamic combos, and the creature is also used for traversal in the environment.

Flintlock is the second game from A44 Games, which previously released the Souls-like title Ashen. In the world of Flintlock, the Door to the Afterlife has been opened, and the armies of the dead have pushed the living to extinction. Players take on the role of Nor Vanek, a member of the coalition army and one of humanity’s last hopes. Here’s an overview of the game’s key elements from its Steam page.

  • Forge a bond like no other – Join Nor Vanek, a member of the coalition army, and your companion Enki, a strange creature gifted with magical powers, in their personal vendetta against the gods.
  • Defeat the most powerful beings in creation – Challenge the Gods. Master a demanding yet rewarding combat system blending axe wielding, gunplay, magic and more. Unleash powerful combos and embrace your creativity with every encounter.
  • Make your mark on a vast battlefield – Explore a dangerous open world. Fly through the desert sands, journey through cavernous ruins, and unveil the secrets that lie in the towering City of Dawn. Reassemble the Blackstream sappers, a team of crack explosives and weaponry experts, to lend their skills in the last siege against the gods.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn launches in early 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
