Just in time for the spooky season, Fortnite has revealed the theme and details behind Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 4: Last Resort and the theme involves stealing from a vampire.

Previous speculation assumed the anticipated Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4: Last Resort would revolve around a ‘Heist’ theme, considering Epic Games’ previous tease, but it turns out there’s much more at stake with the new chapter update. Fortnite Battle Royale introduces the vampire Kado Thorne in Last Resort, who has taken up residence on the island and has pillaged the island’s coffers to build swanky real estate smack dab in the middle of the Battle Royale chaos. The new real estate holds treasures for combatants to make away with, however, as introduced in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 trailer that can be seen below.

Three new key locations are being added to Battle Island, with Sanguine Suites, Relentless Retreat, and Eclipsed Estate. These luxurious locations have more than meets the eye, and there is treasure lurking within. There is a catch, though: combatants will face defences when storming these locations with cameras, laser grids, and guards at the ready. Fortnite Battle Royale Vampire-in-residence Kado Thorne has also taken over the Rumble Ruins, the Slap Juice factory, and a tower in MEGA City, and these locations also have defences stationed.

As seen in the new trailer, players have two methods of breaking and entering, either stealthily or with the newly introduced Rocket Ram. Along with the Rocket Ram, weapons for the season include the Infiltrator Pump Shotgun, the Scoped Burst SMG, and the Twin Mag Assault Rifle for Fortnite combatants to stifle defences (and other combatants). The new Business Turret is a more hands-off approach for the strategic player who doesn’t want to stick around for the ‘getting caught’ part of the heist.

In Thorne’s estates on Battle Island, combatants can find vaulted Mythical weaponry from chapters and seasons past with returning Reality Augments to make your heist go smoothly. These include:

  • Midas’ Drum Gun.
  • TNTina’s Ka-Boom Bow.
  • Ocean’s Bottomless Chug Jug.
  • Kit’s Charge Shotgun.
  • Kit’s Shockwave Launcher.
  • The Foundation’s MK-Seven Assault Rifle
  • Zyg and Choppy’s Ray Gun
  • Gunnar’s Stinger SMG
  • Light Fingers
  • First Assault
  • Supercharged
  • Steady Hands
  • SMG Sign Off
  • Keymaster
  • More Parkour
  • Rarity Check
  • Sprint Lines

These returning Fortnite weapons and Augments will help combatants escape the long fangs of Kado Thorne. There are also new skins to unlock with the Battle Pass, and the world’s biggest TikTok star, who shows ‘life-hacks’ Khaby Lame, will be making his entrance into Fortnite by breaking and entering. The newest lightsaber-wielding heroine, Ahsoka Tano, will also be making her grand entrance into Battle Royale this season at a later unspecified date.

Aside from the new Battle Royale additions, Fortnite is reworking its competitive ranking system. This pulls all combatants back to the ground level zero, and you will have to work your way up the ranking ladder again. This time around, ranking affects eligibility requirements for Epic-hosted tournaments (among other factors).

There is much more to uncover in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4: Last Resort, and it’s live now, so fans can jump in all the action today. Fans can also swing over to the Fortnite Blog for more details.
