House of the Dragon Season 2 Teaser Trailer Released at CCXP

HBO’s House of the Dragon Season 2 received a teaser trailer at the CCXP convention in Brazil earlier today.

Today has been the day for massive TV teaser trailers to drop, with HBO’s Emmy award-winning prequel to Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon. With just over a year since the last episode of Season 1 aired, Season 2 is primed to pick up right where we left off, with the implications of war between kin. “There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin and no war so bloody as a war between dragons.” This line, appearing to have been spoken by Rhaenys Targaryen, sets the tone quite nicely for what we can expect for the upcoming season.

Season 2 sees its all-star cast of Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Emma D’Arcy (Wanderlust), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man), and more return to their pivotal roles, while series newcomers Clinton Liberty, Jamie Kenna, Kieran Bew, Tom Bennett, Tom Taylor, and Vincent Regan all hope to make their mark on the hugely successful prequel to Game of Thrones.

The trailer is full of exciting teases, including Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen in his battle armour, Rhaenyra receiving counsel from Rhaenys, and Ewan Mitchell’s Prince Aemond riding what appears to be an absolutely massive dragon.

House Of Dragon S2 5

With a release date of Summer 2024, fans will not have to wait long for the return of House of the Dragon. HBO have said that Season 2 is an 8-episode season, which is 2 episodes shorter than Season 1. Fans of Game of Thrones can attest to how the length of season can effect its content, so let’s hope that the shorter season does not come at the compromise of story-telling or world-building.
