The new Nintendo Indie World showcase will be airing tomorrow, which will provide the latest updates on upcoming Switch indie games.
For Nintendo fans, this morning has a little tidbit of big news for you all! The announcement for the next Nintendo Indie World showcase was announced this morning. It will be airing tomorrow (November 14, 2023) at 9:00 am PT/12:00 pm ET. As previous Indie World showcases, it will show “roughly 20 minutes of new announcements and updates” on indie games heading to the Switch.
While there was no set list of games expected to be part of the showcase, many fans were quick to point to Hollow Knight: Silksong as one of the main talking points. The game has yet to receive a release date but has generated a lot of interest and hype. However, fans are torn about whether it is out of the realm of possibility. Another game that could very well be featured would be the Switch port of the 2019 hit game, Outer Worlds. The game has been indefinitely delayed until 2021, but based on some leaked information, it could finally be coming soon. However, it’s also likely that some of the less familiar titles will be included.
While Silksong has a 50-50 shot at being in the Nintendo Indie World showcase tomorrow, there is an even lesser chance to see updates for bigger games like Super Mario RPG, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, or Disney Dreamlight Valley. Whatever games they may show, I am sure there will be one that will stun the viewers. And no, there will probably not be a Switch 2 announcement either.
The last Nintendo Indie Showcase was back in April 2023, so it does feel like there has been a big gap for indie games coming to the Switch. The last showcase revealed things like Cult of the Lamb DLC and gave us release dates for Blasphemous 2, Oxenfree 2, and even Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Another thing from previous showcases like Indie World and Nintendo Direct was that a few of the games featured would hit the Switch eShop that same day. So, tomorrow might be a good day to double-check the store for new games to play.
