Jordan Peele Unveils HIM, Releasing On September 19, 2025

Universal Pictures has announced that HIM will premiere on Sept. 19, 2025. The film is produced by Oscar winner Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions.

From the creator of Get Out, Us, Candyman and Nope, Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions bring HIM to theatres on Sept. 19. The film stars Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, Marlon Wayans as Isaiah White and Julia Fox as Elsie White. The story follows Cameron on his journey to become the best football player, inspired by his beloved idol.

To summarize what we know so far about HIM: the film focuses on Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who is attacked by a fan, resulting in potentially career-ending brain trauma. Refusing to give up on his football career, Cameron receives an opportunity to get back on his feet from his idol, Isaiah White—an eight-time championship-winning quarterback. As Isaiah trains Cameron at an isolated compound he shares with his wife, Elsie White, Cameron soon discovers this isn’t ordinary training. He falls into a psychological rabbit hole and must do whatever it takes to become like his idol.

Interestingly, HIM may explore themes related to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)—a brain disorder caused by repeated head injuries. CTE has been an ongoing topic of concern in professional football, with symptoms that include increased aggression, depression, anxiety and other behavioural changes. The condition cannot be definitively diagnosed while a person is alive; it can only be confirmed during an autopsy.

HIM is directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks), who co-wrote the screenplay with Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie (Limetown). Joining Jordan Peele as a producer are Ian Cooper (Nope, Us), Win Rosenfeld (Candyman, Lovecraft Country) and Jamal M. Watson (Hala, Sprinter). David Kern and Kate Oh serve as executive producers.

In addition to the starring cast, the supporting cast includes Tim Heidecker (First Time Female Director, Us), Jim Jefferies (The Jim Jefferies Show), MMA heavyweight fighter Maurice Greene, rapper Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack.

For fans looking forward to Jordan Peele’s upcoming project, HIM will premiere on September 19, 2025. Fans can visit the official website to keep up-to-date as we learn more about the film until its release.
