Hideo Kojima wants you to be able to get the full console experience while gaming on the go.

Konami got a head start on E3 with last night’s pre-E3 show, and they’ve already grabbed some attention with a couple of HD collections – Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders – as well as a new save interface that allow you to play console games on the go.

Getting into the details, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will contain Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and an enhanced version of the PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, while the Zone of the Enders HD Collection will contain Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2

Runner. Both collections will be available for both the 360 and the PS3 and will be given the standard HD makeover with updated visuals and brand new trophies/achievements.

Hideo Kojima also announced a new system called Transfarring that will be exclusive to the PS3 versions of the aforementioned HD collections. Transfarring allows players to transfer save data from a PS3 to a PSP and back, which means that you could play Peace Walker on your PS3 and then pick up the same game on your PSP and continue where you left off. Peace Walker will be the first title to utilize transfarring – the game debuted as a PSP exclusive – although it’s not yet clear how (or if) the system will be incorporated into games that are not currently available on both platforms. However, Kojima says that he has big plans for Transfarring, and hopes to be able to make the system compatible with the PS3, the PSP, and (eventually) the NGP.

The Metal Gear Solid Collection will be available this November while the Zone of the Enders Collection will be available sometime in 2012, and while the news of a Metal Gear Solid Collection isn’t too surprising, the Zone of the Enders Collection is a different story.  The series has been dormant since 2003 when The 2

Runner was originally released, so this could be a sign that Konami is hoping to do something new with the franchise.
