Konami Teams Up With GameSpot for Pre-E3 Show

Konami and GameStop are partnering together to live stream Konami’s third-annual Pre-E3 Show 2013, happening on June 6 for 10AM(PT)/ 1PM(ET).

“Konami is bringing back the Pre-E3 show once again this year, with the biggest and best content the company has to offer,” Konami president Tomoyuki Tsuboi says in today’s press release. “We have partnered with the best in the industry, CBS Interactive and GameSpot, to provide our fans updates on some of their favourite franchises, all in advance of the world’s marquee video game conference.”

The company, in tune with generating hype for E3, will showcase a variety of game trailers, news and interviews at their third-annual show: insights on upcoming products from its social games studios; behind-the-scenes feature reel and interviews for the next addition in the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise with producer Kei Matsuda; and provide the scoop on the upcoming installment in Hideo Kojima’s beloved Metal Gear Solid series— Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

There would also be an exclusive first-time access with developer MercurySteam, as they will unveil Castlevania: Lords of the Shadow 2.

In addition to the show being streamed on GameSpot’s website (and the GameStop app on Xbox Live), promotions and special tune-in announcements leading up to Konami’s Pre-E3 show will be broadcasted on CBS Television’s major markets on May 27: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Franciso, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle and Sacramento. Promos will also be shown on CW’s Atlanta, San Francisco and Seattle locations.

“E3 is the biggest event in the gaming industry and GameSpot will cover every aspect of the event online, on mobile and now on air with a pre-E3 show that we ill produce and which will air on CBS Television stations nationwide,” says Ben Howard, GameStop’s Vice President of Programming. “In advance of their special, we will dedicate several of the promotions specifically to the Konami Pre-E3 show, to drive tune in to their event and to help bring game enthusiasts closer to one of the biggest players in the gaming industry.”
