Lucca Comics & Games has unveiled more details of its 60th-anniversary celebrations, including Dungeons & Dragons, video games and special guests!
Now that nearly all of the biggest showcases in the gaming industry, aside from The Game Awards 2026, are in the rearview mirror, video game fans have their eyes set on upcoming celebrations, namely the 60th anniversary of Lucca Comics & Games. While New York Comic Con is still on deck for next month, one of the biggest events of the year, Lucca Comics & Games 2026, has given fans more details on what to expect from its massive anniversary celebration.
In June, organizers unveiled the towering poster for the 60th-anniversary celebration, created by Italian comic-book veteran Claudio Castellini. Described as a “meta-poster,” it is composed of “a single, detail-rich image, full of symbolism, references and Easter eggs, that brings the protagonists of Lucca’s historic posters back on stage together.” The design embraces the event’s legacy, with the word “Lucca” itself incorporated into the background of the poster.
On top of that, an extensive lineup of comic and gaming talent has already been confirmed to attend. Now, Lucca Comics & Games 2026 has unveiled the full event program.
Lucca Comics & Games 2026: All The Big Events!
- Actor Joe Manganiello returns once again as special curator of the Lucca60 Dungeons & Dragons programme, including the D&D Icons line bringing back settings such as Dragonlance and Greyhawk. Authors Tracy and Laura Hickman are attending.
- The movie Area pays homage to the legendary Frank Miller, and the longtime creator, Frank Miller, will be in attendance with director Silenn Thomas for the documentary Frank Miller: American Genius.
- Lucca pays tribute to Go Nagai, the legendary manga artist whose creations revolutionized manga and anime. The exhibition centres on his giants of steel – Mazinger Z, a foundational title of the mecha genre, and Grendizer, a huge cultural cornerstone for manga in Italy
- The Percy Jackson cast make their first visit to Lucca Comics & Games. Disney+ tows Percy Jackson and the Olympians stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri to Lucca, with Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, and the cast will be previewing unseen clips from season three set to debut on November 20, 2026.
- Palm D’or Winner Hirokazu Kore-eda arrives to the festival with Look, Yoko Kanno and Godzilla Minus Zero bring arthouse cinema, and an Italian premiere of the film to the festival.
- MiniLima will be highlighting their first ever game, Harry Potter: Defenders of Hogwarts. Lucca will be the first event in the world where attendees can sit down and play the game.
- Square Enix and Final Fantasy legends, Yoshinori Kitase (Final Fantasy VII) and Hideki Kamiya will be in attendance.
- Lucca Comics & Games 2026 is setting up to be the biggest event in its 60 year history for video games, and CD Projekt RED will be demoing The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt’s new expansion. On top of that, Alien: Isolation 2 gets a playable demo in Italy, and fans will be able to go hands-on for the first time with its creative director, Al Hope, attending.
- Comics will have a massive presence, with 80 Italian and international publishers, and over 400 guests in attendance including Jonathan Hickman, Marko Djurdjevic, Tillie Walden, Peach Momoko, and much more will be attending.
On top of what fans can expect from Lucca Comics & Games 2026, there will also be huge, breathtaking art exhibits, and a brand new music pavilion dedicated entirely to musical instruments. Aside from the staggering number of creatives at Lucca Comics & Games 2026, there is also a slew of activities lined up for those interested in collectibles, card games, and board games. Pop Mart is making an appearance this year; Magic: The Gathering is bringing signature artists Rebecca Guay and Scott M. Fischer for a panel; a pavilion will be erected for everything BANDAI card games (including Naruto); and so much more is planned for the massive event.
