It’s that time of year again, and by that time of year again, of course, it’s the spectacular Mario Day (MAR10 Day), and Nintendo has whipped together a special celebration for fans in 2024.
Nintendo has unravelled a large list of celebratory details surrounding the impending Mario Day, and this year, Nintendo has brought competition, sales, and events to commemorate the occasion. Ranging from the offerings (like Super Mario World on SNES) on the Nintendo Switch Online Membership all the way to the most recent release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, there’s a way to celebrate for everybody. Below is a “Mario Through the Years” video just released by Nintendo, showing how far the mustachioed hero has come since his first adventure in 1985.
MAR10 Day Celebration Details
- In honour of MAR10 Day, Nintendo is extending its free 7-day trial period for Nintendo Switch Online to 14 days, so fans can have double the time to try out the online service offering from Nintendo. Fans should note that this doesn’t include the Expansion Pass. This offering is available now, through March 17.
- From now through April 1, fans can redeem platinum Nintendo points to snag Super Mario World Nintendo Switch icons, and fans can even earn platinum points by playing Super Mario World during the 14-day extended trial period for the occasion. Physical and digital rewards are offered through the MyNintendo program, and it can be found on the official Nintendo website.
- To celebrate MAR10 Day and to get as many fans involved as possible, starting today and running until March 15, there are super sales on Super Mario titles, even on the latest Mario Party Superstars release. All percentage Nintendo sales can be found on their official website (even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is cheaper!).
Fans can also enter MAR10 Day sweepstakes from LEGO and BlackMilk, which give away exclusive Nintendo-licensed products in collaboration. Fans can visit the sweepstakes website here, and entries are accepted until April 16 for LEGO and April 23 for the BlackMilk sweepstakes, respectively (Note: the websites list all terms and conditions for the entry process).
Lastly, there’s a special MAR10 Day Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament en route for March 10. From 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. EST, fans can race tournament-style against fellow go-karters to prove who is the best (and to obtain 1,000 gold points for the top 310 racers). To access the Tournament, select the following, in order, within the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game: Online Play, Tournaments, Search by Code. Enter the following code to enter the in-game tournament: 3409-7365-4571.
MAR10 Day celebrations will be running all month long, so fans will have plenty to say “Yahoo!” to this month!
