Mario Party Superstars Goes Back to the Classic while Bringing New Changes

Mario Party Superstars is a throwback to the Nintendo 64 era of the franchise while introducing some welcome changes in addition to the five classic boards in the game.

The already known major change, Nintendo revealed during its initial announcement is that online is coming right out of the box for Mario Party Superstars. It will be good to not wait two years for the Toad engineers to implement an online mode in an era of multiplayer-only games.

In a recent update, we Mario Party players got a better idea of what classic boards they’ll be able to choose from. Those newly learned boards include Woody Woods, Yoshi’s Tropical Island and Horror Land which features a day and night mode. Those three boards will join Space Land and Peach’s Birthday Cake, which means we now know all five classic boards coming to Mario Party Superstars.

In addition, also announced was a new Mt. Minigames mode is coming to Mario Party Superstars, which features a wide variety of mini-game courses to play through. Players can choose from such modes as Survival and Tag match in a total of seven different courses. As the standard going forward, all new modes will support online multiplayer.

Speaking of min games, the full list of exactly 100 mini-games that will be featured in Mario Party Superstars has been revealed. Looking through the list, the list is more favourable to Nintendo 64 and Gamecube Mario Party games with 90 percent of them coming from Mario Party 1 through 7. The last of the list does feature mini-games from the Nintendo Wii/Wii U Era Mario Party games but it isn’t much comparatively.
