Epic Games Summons Naruto to Fortnite on November 16th

It’s been rumoured for months but Epic Games has confirmed that the number one hyperactive knucklehead ninja, Naruto Uzumaki is joining the fight in Fortnite on November 16th.

The move to bring the super popular anime to the battle royale game isn’t shocking especially since rumours have floated that Epic Games was attempting to negotiate the rights to bring the nine tails host to through the game’s seasonal battle pass. Other than the date of Naruto‘s arrival which is the same date as the game’s next patch (v.18.40), nothing is officially known about what’s exactly coming to the game through the upcoming anime crossover.

Unofficially it is a different story as the game’s team of data miners uncovered references to cosmetic items like kunai, shuriken scrolls and morUchihae. In addition, leaks have revealed Naruto isn’t going in alone but his teammates and sensei are joining the fight as well. That’s right the rest of team seven—Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno and Kakashi Hatake are dropping from the battle bus next week as well. A Naruto boss character is also coming as well and will roam through Fortnite map and a Naruto-themed hub for the game’s creative mode.

Naruto‘s 700 chapter manga run originally started back in 1999 which ended in 2014, it would later get the anime treatment in 2002 which would run for five years before getting its sequel series, Naruto: Shippuden which features a slightly older version of the character. Both anime series accumulated 720 episodes, 11 movies, 12 OVAs and many spinoffs. One of those spinoffs that continues from the end of Naruto‘s story is Boruto which focuses on Naruto‘s son. Boruto‘s manga started back in 2016 with an anime adaptation following in 2017.

Naruto‘s next week’s debut in Fortnite is expected to be the last of this Cube-filled season which might be the last of this chapter for Fortnite. Nothing has been confirmed at this point but what’s next for Fortnite is expected to arrive in early December which may possibly be the introduction of Fortnite: Chapter Three, but we’ll see or not.
