Netflix Renews Lost in Space for a Second Season

Netflix has just announced on Twitter and Facebook that Lost in Space will return for a second season.

The Netflix Original reimagines the classic science fiction series from the 1960’s, where a Swiss family got shipwrecked en route to Port Jackson, Australia. They had to work together to survive an unknown island, instilling family values and self-reliance. The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss was published about two centuries ago, in 1812.

Fast forward to 2018, Lost in Space takes place in a future where space colonization is possible. The Robinson family were chosen to start a new life as colonists, however, they could never get an easy break as they get torn off course. In order to survive the unknown and dangerous alien environment, they have to forge new alliances and work together.

Lost in Space will star Toby Stephens as John Robinson, a former U.S. Navy SEAL and Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson, an aerospace engineer. Maxwell Jenkins will be the couple’s youngest child, Will Robinson, while Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson will be the middle child and Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson, the eldest child and a mission doctor. Ignacio Serricchio and Parker Posey will star as smuggler Don West and antagonist June Harris respectively.

Lightyears away from their original destination, the Robinson family will continue finding a home away from home and fight their inner demons in the upcoming season.
