New Competitive Gaming Platform PlayVig Rewards You For Gaming

Las Vegas-based Gaming Platform, PlayVig wants to reward you for playing video games.

PlayVig is free for its users and downloading the PlayVig app, they can earn rewards by playing and watching advertisements. Every time an ad is viewed on the site, a certain portion of that revenue is added to the prize pool, which users can face off to claim. If a player ends up winning they receive virtual coins that they can use in the PlayVig Store for digital content, gift cards, new games and other gaming-related items. The service is currently exclusive to Window’s platforms.

President of PlayVig, Joe Versaci says that his team wants to change the way that people think of and interact with advertisements. “We wanted to shift the current perception of viewing ads, moving away from something you skip or fast forward, to something you see immediate value in. Our process is user-initiated and videos are only seen by gamers who have registered and opted-in, providing a non-intrusive, positive brand engagement for the gamer.  For the advertiser, this means that every video ad served is 100% verifiable and tied to a real gamer.”

The app also gives players certain in-game quests to fulfill that reward them with in-game coins. If a user completes three missions they will receive 250 coins which can be used in the service’s store. To put the coins into perspective, you need 5,250 coins in order to get a $5 Steam card.

PlayVig is currently available for a handful of games, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Player Unknown’s Battleground, Rocket League, and League of Legends. The company says that they will have more game support coming soon including DOTA 2, CSGO, NHL 18 and Minecraft. The service entered beta in late November and currently has 55,000 active gamers.
