Bungie has released a new gameplay video for its highly anticipated online FPS, Destiny, offering a closer look at the game’s class-based action, co-operative combat, and large-scale sci-fi world.
The video focuses on the game’s three playable classes: Titan, Warlock, and Hunter. Each class brings its own combat style to the battlefield, with the Titan acting as a heavily armoured frontline fighter, the Warlock using powerful abilities to control the flow of battle, and the Hunter relying on speed, precision, and mobility. Together, the three Guardians are shown infiltrating an enemy stronghold known as Devil’s Lair, taking on waves of hostile forces while pushing deeper into enemy territory.
The footage gives players a better sense of how Destiny blends first-person shooting with MMO-inspired progression, loot, and co-operative gameplay. The Devil’s Lair mission shown in the video will also be playable at E3 this year, giving attendees an early hands-on look at one of the game’s major encounters.
Players eager to try the game before launch can sign up for the early access beta, which is expected to go live this summer. Destiny is scheduled to release on September 9, 2014, for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
