Nexon Announces Ghost in the Shell First Assault Launches Soon on Steam

Nexon announced Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online (First Assault)  will be available to play on Steam in the near future. According to the Steam page, First Assault will be available for purchase as of December. Up until this point, Nexon has held closed beta testing of the game. According to their press release, they have been using the feedback to “help shape the game” experience. Players can still register to be part of the beta.

Based on the critically acclaimed anime, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (which, in turn, was based on the story created by mangaka Masamune Shirow), First Assault  takes you into the dark, cyberpunk world of Japan, 2029. In this online multiplayer team shooter, you play as a member of section 9; an elite force of cybernetically enhanced military operatives whose primary mission is to protect the vulnerable public from terrorist hackers. Playing as one of several operatives, throughout the game you develop abilities unique to your character and augment your “human shell” with cutting edge combat technology. Players work as a team to combine abilities and unleash deadly tactics.
