Omega Labyrinth Z's Western Release Cancelled announces Pcube

Earlier today, Pcube, the publisher of many popular and often Japanese titles, announced that the forthcoming Western release of Omega Labyrinth Z has been cancelled, specifically, both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of the JRPG title.

Pcube broke the disheartening news through their official Twitter account, earlier today. The tweet in question includes an official statement from the publisher regarding the cancellation, with Pcube stating that as a publisher, the company strives to ensure every title they work on meets the standards put in place by the various age rating boards in their respected territories, such as the ESRB in North America.

The reasoning behind the cancellation seems to be due to the risque content found within Omega Labyrinth Z, something that Sony has deemed inappropriate for the Western branches of their console ecosystem. The title itself follows a group of young girls as they search for a means of increasing their breast size through the use of some kind of mystical object known as the Holy Grail of Beauty, which should indicate the nature of the title and perhaps shed light as to why Sony felt the game was inappropriate for their Western audience and consumer base.

This isn’t the first time Sony has cancelled a game from release just prior to launch. In May, the computer entertainment giant cancelled a game known as Super Seducer, a title which featured a similarly Adult theme, which ultimately lead to Sony pulling the plug.

Omega Labyrinth Z originally came out in Japan all the way back in 2015 for the PlayStation 4 and Vita.
