Papaya Plaza has officially arrived on Steam with a new demo, giving cozy game fans an early taste of its laid-back city-building charm.
It’s always great to see cute new cozy games! Published by Weekend Games and developed by Biscuit Factory Games, a team of veteran Fall Guys and Fortnite developers, Papaya Plaza is a cozy city builder where you become the mayor of a sleepy town, and it’s up to you to restore it! The game just hit Steam, and we don’t know the release date yet, but you can try out the Papaya Plaza demo to experience the cozy fun right now.
As the mayor of Papaya Plaza, it is up to you to turn your rundown town into a warm and lively home for your villagers. Building up your town does not have to be stressful, and Papaya Plaza offers a super laid-back city-building experience, allowing you to spruce up the town at your own pace and in any way you like. The game includes hundreds of pixel-art designs for you to choose from, created by art director Stef Bollen, better known as StefScribbles.
As you build up your town, you can work toward improving your town rank, with the ultimate goal of reaching five-star status. To help you reach that goal, you can open new stores to earn more money and help out the townsfolk with minor quests. Special villagers can also find their way to you with unique problems and suggestions for how to make Papaya Plaza a gorgeous place to live.
If you are looking for a new cozy game with a beautiful pixel-art style like Stardew Valley and town-builder elements similar to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Papaya Plaza might just be a game you should try. You can find the demo now on Steam.
