Persona 6 Details Leaked, Main Protagonist And Release Date Rumoured

The Wait Could Be Coming To An End

New Domain Leads To Persona 4 Remake Speculation

Persona 6, the highly anticipated Atlus RPG, may have had its release date and main protagonist leaked.

The wait for Persona 6 has been a long one, but according to rumours and leaks online, the wait may be coming to an end. Coming from Chinese forum Xiaohongshu, concept art was shown off featuring the main protagonist and one of the female leads. The leaks were then supported by notable insider lolilolailo, who has accurately dropped information about past Persona and Yakuza/Like a Dragon titles. According to them, the leaks come from an outsourced animation team and were fired and fined for sharing them.

The main protagonist appears to be male, with a short blonde bowl cut. He looks a lot like Bebe from Persona 3, while the female character has black and red hair in a bob cut. There have been conflicting rumours that Persona 6 would feature dual protagonists, but according to the leaker, the main protagonist will be the blonde male, with the female character being a prominent character.

Concept art of a location was also shown, fueling rumours that the setting for Persona 6 will be in Yokohama. Persona 5 took place in Tokyo, while Persona 4 took place in Inaba, a small mountain town, making the series’ trip to Yokohama a first. More concept art can be seen on Reddit.

Alongside the concept art, a release window was also leaked. According to lolilolailo, Atlus is planning to release Persona 6 in September 2027. This comes hot on the heels of Persona 4 Revival being rated in South Korea. South Korea usually rates games closer to release, meaning that it could release in the back half of this year, or possibly early next year. If that’s the case, two major Persona titles would drop in the same year, giving fans plenty to play.

The wait for the next mainline entry in the series has been a long one. Persona 5 released back in 2016, with the expanded Persona 5 Royal following in 2020. The last remake, Persona 3 Reload, launched in 2024. Hopefully the wait for both eagerly anticipated titles won’t be much longer.
