Playerunknown's Battleground Surpasses 2 Million Sales

Bluehole, the developer behind games such as Tera Online have announced that their Steam early-access title, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has reached a whopping two million units in sales on the digital games distribution platform.  The game, even in early-access has garnered a tonne of positive attention from gamers who have touted the game as being a fun and addictive third person survival MMORPG.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Blueholes latest game, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is a game reminiscent of titles such as DayZ and Rust. Players engage in combat and survival, either in large free-for-all style competitions with each other or on servers that allow players to team up and fight other groups of players. All the action takes place on large maps that place the player in urban environments such as derelict buildings and towns. Players can choose from an assortment of both range and melee weapons, along with gear that they find throughout the game world that they can then equip in order to prepare them for the numerous battles that can happen anytime during the game, in the hopes of coming out on top.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive support from gamers, Bluehole has announced that they will have a special stream for the game on Twitch, the stream will broadcast a 64 European and 64 American player competition, in which all the donations will go to Gamersoutreach, an organization dedicated to providing children in hospitals with video games, in order to provide them with some form of entertainment in times of need. To sweeten the deal, Bluehole will match all donations up to $100k. The special stream will be on Twitch, on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 from 9:00AM PDT to 5:00 PM PDT.
