Bluehole In Talks to Extend PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Xbox One Deal 1

Bluehole, the creators of the wildly popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, are in talks with Microsoft to extend the exclusivity deal of the game on the Xbox Platform.

South Korea’s Bluehole Inc. are making the Xbox One the exclusive console of choice for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. While the exact length of the deal has not been disclosed, they are looking to extend the deal beyond the normal three month window allotted to most timed exclusive deals, according to reports from Bloomberg. If this is to take place, Xbox One could be your only console platform for the foreseeable future if you want to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

The game, created by Brendan Greene (also known as PlayerUnknown) and developed by Bluehole, has quickly risen to prominence on Valve’s Steam platform. With the chaotic, fast paced action and level of skill, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has become one of the most streamed games on Twitch, with over 100,000 viewers at the time of this article. It is no wonder the game is one of the hottest properties currently on the market.

While there is no confirmed date, Bluehole has said they are in talks with all major console manufactures about bringing PUBG to their respective platforms. At this time the only console that has been confirmed is the Xbox One, although with the PlayStation 4 dominating the market with over 60 million sold worldwide, it is all but inevitable that it will eventually hit that console.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is slated to hit the Xbox One later this year, and is currently available in early access on Steam at $29.99 USD.
