The Pokémon Go Plus wristband is set to evolve into a ring accessory.
Pokémon Go released to an incredible reception from fans which lead to the holiday 2016 release of the official Pokémon Go Plus accessory, a keychain-like smart device that paired up with one’s phone and allowed easier tracking of the titular Pokémon characters through the use of GPS and location based technologies. The Poké Ball marker-styled device will be receiving an upgrade, or rather a small modification, that transforms the wristband into a slightly bolder fashion statement in ring form.
The new Pokémon Go Plus Ring will come in the classic red and white Poké Ball aesthetic, in addition to colours reminiscent of other in-game Poké Balls, which include Great Balls and Ultra Balls. The biggest advantage over the original wristband version of the Pokémon tracker is the price point. The Pokémon Go Plus Ring will retail for 400 Yen or a meager $3.50 USD, which is sustainably less expensive than the $35 USD asking price of the original Pokémon Go Plus wristband.
The Pokémon Go Plus Ring will not offer any new features from the original wristband, however it may be a good purchase for those who missed out on the original release, as they sold out rather quickly due to releasing during the height of the Pokémon Go craze. The ring may not be for everyone, but the price point and available colours is a nice touch. This will surely please hardcore fans of Pokémon Go with another option when it comes to tracking and elevating the mobile gaming experience.

The Pokémon Go Plus Ring will release July, 15, 2017 in Japan, currently no release date or plans for a Western release have been announced for the upcoming accessory.
