Koch Media announced today they have formed Prime Matter, a new premium label to publish games from studios around the globe.
Known for the Saints Row series, along with many other prominent titles, Koch media made the announcement in a press event earlier in the week. With this announcement comes a promise to focus on the titles and concepts gamers love from the studio, while still investing in new and exciting IPs.
“It’s about working in harmony with the developers and their visions, and blending these with the 25 years global experience at Koch Media to ensure that the games full potential is realized.” Explained Koch Media’s CEO Klemens Kundratitz.
In the marathon press session, the new studio discussed ten new IPs they will be focusing on, including PAYDAY 3, Painkiller, Dolmen, Gungrave G.O.R.E. along with many others. As if this was not enough, Koch media also announced that titles and studios they already work with will also be published under the new Prime Matter label. This includes Warhorse Studios next game; Nine Dots Studio’s Outward coming for next-gen; as well as Taleworlds’ Mount and Blade II: Bannerlords. It was also announced that Kingdom Come Deliverance by Warhorse Studios will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch thanks to a collaboration with Saber Interactive.
Kundratitz further outlined that “Each developer is as unique as they are talented. We are delighted to have such a wide and varied creative range of games to offer from AAA to Triple Indie, from all corners of the globe.
Gaming is a universal language and is a love that you never forget, we are proud to be part of this ever growing, multi authored story”.
The full list of games coming from the new label is extensive, Koch Media is pulling no punches when it comes to E3.
PAYDAY 3 is one of the heavy hitters in the group, but sadly little was revealed about the new instalment. Prime Matter will be teaming up with Swedish studio Starbreeze to bring the game out, and it promises to bring all the heist-style excitement from past instalments with a more exciting feel and graphical fidelity. But when the pitch is getting to join the legendary PAYDAY gang as you learn the art of heisting, what else do you need to know?
There are many exciting releases on the docket, with the latest from 1C Entertainment with Kings Bounty 2, Canadian developer Blackbird Interactive’s RTS Crossfire: Legion, Scars Above from Mad Head Games, Gungrave G.O.R.E. from Studio IGGYMOB, the return of Dolmen edging closer to release from Massive Work Studio and many more.
Wrapping up the presentation, it was announced that Saber Interactive would be diving into the Painkiller series with a new instalment, although beyond some fancy keyart, little is known about this new title or what it will look like in the modern age of FPS games.
