During the season of giving, the Red Cross is teaming up with Bandai Namco to gift an exclusive pair of Red Cross x PAC-MAN socks and a custom GASHAPON to blood and platelets donors.
Facing a drop in donors during this time of year, the Red Cross is partnering with Bandai Namco to not only celebrate PAC-MAN’s 45th anniversary but to help motivate donors to provide lifesaving blood and platelets for patients during the holiday season. Every two seconds, someone needs a transfusion, whether from an accident or required for cancer treatments and more. Donors will have the opportunity to make an impact today and receive a pair of Red Cross x PAC-MAN socks and a custom Red Cross x PAC-MAN GASHAPON from November 17 to December 7, 2025.
Established in May 1881 by Clara Barton, the American Red Cross provides assistance to those in need. Following the receipt of its first congressional charter in 1900, the organization continues to operate under the federal government, serving the members of the American armed forces and their families. Additionally, the organization also provides disaster relief across the United States and globally. Highlighting its achievements, the American Red Cross has supported American soldiers and civilians during the First World War, offered first aid certification and swimming classes, and, notably, established the first nationwide civilian blood program in the 1940s.
Regarding its partnership with PAC-MAN, the executive director of Brand and Partnership with the Red Cross, Darren Irby, shared: “The last two months of the year can be a challenge to maintain a strong blood supply. Seasonal activities, holiday planning, inclement weather and cold and flu season all can prevent people from giving blood during this time of year. We are thrilled to work with PAC-MAN to help encourage more donations during this critical period.”

Bringing joy since July 1980 with its simple yet challenging arcade release, PAC-MAN is one of the longest-running franchises, dominating the arcade era of gaming and receiving a Guinness World Record for its “Most Successful Coin-Operated Game”. Celebrating its 45th anniversary, PAC-MAN has collaborated with many brands, including Atari, Govee, and PowerA, and recently released PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC, a remake of the 2002 game.
Looking back at the impact of the PAC-MAN franchises, the Senior Director of Brand Development for PAC-MAN at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., Susan Tran, said: “PAC-MAN has always been about bringing people together and spreading joy. To make an impact today, donors can reserve their spot to donate blood or platelets by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor app on iOS or Android, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS. Donors can receive a pair of Red Cross x PAC-MAN socks and a custom PAC-MAN GASHAPON if they donate between November 17 and December 7, 2025.
