Developer Rebel Wolves confirms that The Blood of Dawnwalker will get a 60 FPS performance mode ahead of its September 3 launch.
According to developers Rebel Wolves, The Blood of Dawnwalker will now receive a 60 FPS performance mode on launch day—September 3rd. Amid last week’s backlash, players were upset that the studio announced the new RPG was originally targeting 30 and 40 FPS on console release. However, Rebel Wolves posted on X this morning, assuring players that they have taken in the feedback, and are currently working towards a day 1 patch.
“On Friday, we answered your questions about console performance with what we knew we could confidently deliver at launch,” The Blood of Dawnwalker official X post read. “Performance Mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet. We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests. Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day 1.”
Based on this recent update, here is a breakdown of the various performances The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature for each console:
PlayStation 5 Pro:
- Performance, targeting 60 FPS
- Balanced, targeting 40 FPS
- Quality, targeting 30 FPS
PlayStation 5 Pro also provides overall visual enhancements.
PlayStation 5:

Xbox Series X:

Xbox Series S:

Limited to one performance target.
For those who had not seen the special showcase last Friday, a video went up showing off the console performance for The Blood of Dawnwalker. The shocking news was seeing how the video said the maximum frame rate they were providing was 40 FPS, even on the PS5 Pro. As this was a frightening piece of information to gamers out there, they can all rest easy now. Rebel Wolves is on it.
CGMagazine’s Executive Editor, Dayna Eileen, previewed The Blood of Dawnwalker back at gamescom 2025 and the most recent Summer Games Fest, noting how “Rebel Wolves knows how to get players emotionally invested,” and “…is every bit as beautiful as I thought it would be.” She even goes on to say how she has “been excited for The Blood of Dawnwalker for over a year, and after going hands-on with it, [she is] just as enthusiastic as ever.” So, it seems like the graphical boost will make the RPG even more stunning.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is being developed by Rebel Wolves and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It releases on September 3 for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, and PC.
