Xbox Stormcloud Vapor Controller Leak Reveals Potential August Launch

Xbox Stormcloud Vapor Controller Leak Reveals Potential August Launch

Sounds Kinda Lame, But Kinda Cool

Rumour: New Xbox Stormcloud Vapor Controller Coming Soon

According to recent industry insights, Xbox may be coming out with a new controller for August that was said to be called Stormcloud Vapor.

With last month’s Starfield Direct presentation, the team at Xbox and Bethesda showcased their upcoming game with some specially-designed accessories to celebrate the launch of the game. One of the accessories was an awesome Starfield Limited Edition controller. While there are no major exclusive titles being released in August for Xbox, a new controller for the console may be imminent according to some industry news developments—said to be called “Stormcloud Vapor.”

Yes, the name is as silly as it sounds kind of cool, and kind of environmentally friendly somehow. Based on some digging from Dealabs Magazine, the codename for the rumoured controller was “Jemez.” This year has seen a healthy amount of Xbox controller releases that began since February. Here is a summary of some of them:

  • February: Stellar Shift
  • March: Velocity Green , Elite V2 Red and Blue
  • April: Remix, Redfall limited editions on the Design Lab
  • May : Sunkissed Vibes OPI
  • June: Starfield Limited Edition
Rumour: New Xbox Stormcloud Vapor Controller Coming Soon 2

The leaked information provided additional details on the Stormcloud Vapor controller, such as the price. The information was based in France and the US, so it allegedly revealed it would be 69,99 euros/$69.99 USD. As for the theme of the controller, it could be linked to any game or nothing—just an amazingly crafted controller with potential new features and cool colourways.

Speculation has gone on to say it could be a limited edition Forza Motorsport controller. This would sort of make sense since Forza Motorsport will be coming on October 10 this year. A little bit pre-emptive to help market the game, but not unheard of. However, sources said that the price could contradict this theory since the Forza Horizon 5 controller released on November 9, 2021 costed $74.99 USD. A $5 dollar difference, so maybe this could be an oversight.

One of the burning questions Xbox fans have anticipated is a controller built with haptic feedback, similar to the PlayStation DualSense controllers. The interest in haptic feedback in Xbox controllers was posed in a 2021 survey sent to the community. While this would be welcomed by the community, it is still uncertain the Stormcloud Vapor will be the one to begin this new era. When will the Xbox Stormcloud Vapor wireless controller be officially released? Based on the same sources, it could be scheduled for August 8, 2023.
