Sega Announces Classics Collection for 3DS

Sega Announces Classics Collection for 3DS - 2016-01-21 13:26:38

Yesterday, Sega teased an announcement that will appease long time fans of the former console maker. Well, the house of Sonic announced the Sega 3D Classics Collection, a bundle of nine classic titles from the company’s Master System and Genesis days.

The game comes with Power Drifter (1988), Puyo Puyo 2 (1994), Maze Walker (1987), Fantasy Zone 2: The Tears of Opa-Opa (1987), Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), Thunder Blade (1987), Galaxy Force II (1988), and Altered Beast (1988). The title hits shelves (and the e-Shop) on April. 26 2016 for $44.99 (CAD).

This is a pretty awesome bundle for 3DS owners, especially those who long for the days of more arcade style gameplay. Although most of these titles are available on the e-shop already and you can probably play most of these games in other collections Sega has released over the past decade, but it’s still pretty cool to have all these titles on one cartridge. As a Sega kid at heart, it’s nice to see these titles get a re-release on retail shelves for the next generation to play and appreciate.
