Sony at Paris Games Week Announcement Rundown

Sony made a ton of new announcements during their presentation at Paris Games Week. Here’s a brief rundown of everything the had to show off today.

One of the main announcements during the presentation came from the studio Sucker Punch, announcing their newest game titled Ghost of Tsushima. Setting itself in Japan, Ghost of Tsushima is an open world action game which allows players to take on the role of a samurai fighting against the Mongol Empire.

Sony revealed that a sequel to the hit indie title Guacamelee is coming to PlayStation 4 soon. The new game will feature four-player co-op along with new puzzles and gameplay mechanics for players to discover Sony also revealed that a sequel to the roguelike platformer Spelunky is also in development and will release next year.

Celebrating the one year anniversary of the PlayStation VR, Sony reveals a number of upcoming games for the platform. Some of the newly announced titles were Ultrawings, an open world flight simulator along with a horror game titled Stifled.

Sony also revealed new trailers for upcoming content coming to previously released games. A new trailer for Resident Evil 7’s Not a Hero DLC was shown, dated December 12. A complete edition of the game was announced alongside the DLC. Also shown were two trailers for Final Fantasy XV, giving us a look at the game’s upcoming DLC along with the standalone fishing simulator, Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV.

Previously announced games were given new trailers as well. Insomniac’s Spider-Man game received a new trailer, highlighting its story and introducing its characters. Monster Hunter World received a new trailer as well, premiering new crossover content with Horizon Zero Dawn.

Sony ended the show with a new cinematic trailer for The Last of Us 2, giving a glimpse into the game’s story.
