Stardew Valley Creator Teases A New Event on New Year's Eve in Update 1.6

Stardew Valley‘s Creator, Eric Barone (AKA ConcernedApe), has unleashed some photos on his X (formerly Twitter) account that teases a new event in celebration of the New Year and incoming update 1.6.

A new post made by Stardew Valley‘s creator, Eric Barone, has hit the ground running since New Year’s Day, and with the impending “extreme crunch” imposed by update 1.6, fans are likely to find out the nature of the teaser post sooner rather than later. Barone’s X (formerly Twitter) account is where the teaser first dropped, and it can be seen below.

Eric Barone took to his X account previously this month to keep fans in the loop about the incoming update 1.6, where he said “A ton of progress on 1.6 last month, it’s (self-imposed) extreme crunch mode, nose to the grindstone (raw nose) mode. Heres’ one of the many additions in 1.6. Keeping mostly everything secret,” while showing a photo of the new ‘Big Chest’ item, which can store double the items a normal chest can.

The image revealed on New Year’s Day showed a potential teaser for an event that could arrive with update 1.6, and in keeping with previous Stardew Valley themes, all of the villagers and a light show are present in the teaser, which indicates a full in-game event, although nothing has been officially announced yet. Eric Barone has also teased update 1.6 previously in September, with a photo depicting a parrot standing on a Joja Corp. logo begging for gold coins on what appears to be Ginger Island.

While Eric Barone is known for teasing his massive fanbase before large updates in Stardew Valley, fans should stay tuned for more information in the immediate future, as it seems we will see update 1.6 and more details surrounding it soon. Fans could head over to the Concerned Ape X account to stay in the loop.
