Popular YouTube and Twitch Streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has revealed that he has been diagnosed with melanoma after a regular skin checkup; Blevins is 32 years old.

Yesterday evening, popular gaming streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that he had been diagnosed with melanoma after a routine skin checkup. Blevins is 32 years old, and he used the platform to implore others to get annual skin checkups. The X post can be seen below.

Ninja explains, “A few weeks ago, I went in to a dermatologist for an annual skin/mole check that Jess proactively scheduled for me. There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful. It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages.” He then stressed the importance of skin checkups, saying, “I’m grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups.”

Ninja’s wife, Jessica Blevins also stressed the importance of proactivity on her own X account, saying, “Crazy butterfly effect moment-I probably wouldn’t have started scheduling annual skin checkups yet if we didn’t move to Florida. Foot melanoma is not sun-related, so it would have been there anyways and we might not have found it. Thank God.”

Fans have come out in droves in support of Ninja, commenting directly on the post. SypherPK, another popular streamer, said, “Hoping for the best. Lots of love to Jess for being proactive as well.”

Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that happens when melanocytes rapidly multiply out of control, according to the American Cancer Society, except it does have a tendency to spread to other parts of the body if not treated early.

While Ninja remains entirely positive about the situation, fans can find him on his X account as he updates fans about his condition.
