Remnant: From The Ashes was a surprise hit when it launched last year, and now the first DLC Swamps of Corsus has just been announced. Coming from publisher Perfect World Entertainment and developer Gunfire Games, this new premium DLC will cost $9.99 when it launches via steam on April 28th. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were confirmed, but no release date or price point has been confirmed at this time.
Players who purchase the DLC will discover an upgraded version of the primordial world of Corsus. It will feature three new powerful weapons and mods, and will also bring with it four new side dungeons, epic bosses and enemies. The Swamps of Corsus will also offer up a new rogue-like Survival Mode, where players will start from scratch, where they must fight to square unique armour and over 50 new armour skins.
According to the official details on the games website: “Those brave enough to take on this intense permadeath challenge will travel randomly through corrupted World Stones to different biomes seeking epic new rewards, all the while fighting to survive against insanely difficult bosses and enemies. Players that delve into the expanded Swamps of Corsus biome will find new story content, such as quests and events, a vast arsenal of powerful gear to collect – including weapons, armor, mods, and traits –along with plenty of tough enemies to take down.”
Remnant: From the Ashes managed to be a minor hit when it first launched, being enjoyed by critics and players. Perfect World Entertainment and Gunfire Games announced the game had sold over a million units across all platforms. CGMagazine’s Jed Whitaker summed up his 9/10 review by saying “Remnant: From the Ashes is a surprisingly good combination of Gears of War-like third-person shooting with Souls-like difficulty.”
