Beetlejuice Beetlejuice brings us back to the 1988 classic with a first look at the cast.
The first Beetlejuice movie was released in 1988, following a deceased couple, Barbara (Green Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alex Baldwin), who hires Beetlejuice to drive the Deetz Family away from their home as they were annoyed with their presence.
After 34 years, the sequel was announced in 2022, and fans of the cult classic Beetlejuice can rejoice as the first look of the sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has been released, showcasing Micheal Keaton reprising the role as he is wearing the iconic costume and makeup.
Alongside the first look at Micheal Keaton, we get a glimpse showcasing Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara reprising their role as Lydia and Deliza Deetz, with Jenna Ortega starring as Astrid, who is a daughter of Lydia and Justin Theroux playing Rory.
With the first look at the cast, Tim Burton revealed a glimpse of the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice story as it will be set 10 years after the first movie in 1988, covering the death of a family. It is not known who it will be as Burton has not revealed much, but fans of the original won’t have to wait too long as the sequel will hit the theatres in a couple of months.
The plan for the sequel was a bit rocky as ideas for the sequel have been on and off, with some ideas going back to the 80s but never materialized since no one was pushing for the sequel to come out at the time. Thankfully, the project was revived in 2022 and began production in 2023.
After a rocky history, the sequel is coming together after many decades, and fans can rejoice as many actors will reprise their roles. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released in theatres on September 6, 2024.
