Trailers: "Rising Through the Ranks" in L.A. Noire

The latest in the L.A. Noire gameplay series lets you replay missions over and over and over again.

Rockstar has released the third entry in the L.A. Noire Gameplay Series, and at this point, you should know what to expect. The characters still look great, the cops are still hard-boiled, and the city of Los Angeles is still a violent cesspool ripped straight from a Hollywood film reel.

Fortunately, the new clip – titled “Rising Through the Ranks – does contain a bit of new information, providing a closer look at your ascension through the various departments of the LAPD. Players will apparently be allowed to replay cases in order to search for alternate outcomes or to achieve better results, and I have to say that it’s a welcome feature because it means that you won’t have to worry about getting everything right the first time. Hopefully, the endless replay potential will make it that much easier to appreciate everything that L.A. Noire has to offer.

The new trailer is below. L.A. Noire hits shelves on May 17
