Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: Paradise has just dropped, so here is a breakdown of everything you need to know.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: Paradise has officially kicked off—with a lot of chrome. We have compiled all the new season details to make sure you are in the know for the fresh, new season. Our breakdown will include everything from the new battle pass rewards, new weapons, map changes, exotic weapons, NPCs and more—including the new vault key system.

Vault Keys

One of the biggest and latest additions to this season of Fortnite has been the implementation of the new vault key system. If you have been playing the game for a while, you would have noticed how you and your friends would stand still and be scanned at vault entrances in order to scoop up some mystery items inside. However, now vaults will require vault keys to open them, offering better loot. Vault keys are listed as randomized loot, so there will not be a sure-fire way to get them. If you have played Apex Legends, the Vault keys work similarly.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4: Battle Pass

As per usual, the Fortnite battle pass for this season will include more than 100 rewards that feature eight new characters with alternate styles, various new loading screens, back bling, pickaxes, lobby tracks, emotes, and more. The eight new characters included Paradigm, Lennox Rose, Bytes, Grriz, Meow Skulls, Twyn, The Herald and Marvel’s very own, Spider-Gwen from Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4: New Weapons and Loot

The combat meta will continue to evolve in Fortnite as this season will be introducing two new guns, including an updated list of guns added and removed from the playable rotation. The two new guns are the EvoChrome Shotgun and EvoChome Burst Rifle. These new weapons are upgradeable the more damage you cause with them. A new support item has been added as well called “Chrome Splash”, which could be used as a quick get-out-of-jail free card in a losing fight.

Chrome Splashes could be used on walls, yourself and your friends. Throwing it at building walls (not usable on floors or ceilings) will make the building chrome and allow players to phase through walls for quick cover. The chrome will stay until the end of the round or if it is destroyed. When Chrome Splash is used on you or a friend, the player will be immune from fire damage and turn into a blob that can make quick dashes—similar to the Zero Point fish dash. Chrome Splashes last about 40-ish seconds on players.

Here is a list of weapons that have returned, and those that players will have to temporarily say goodbye to:

Chapter 3, Season 4: Map Changes

Another staple of Fortnite’s changing meta are its map changes. This season will introduce some new places of interest (POI): Cloud Condos and Herald’s Sanctum. Cloudy Condos will be a great way to avoid the Chrome on the island by staying above it all. It is a great vantage point to fire down on enemies, but you will most likely need to use of the island’s D-Launchers. Herald’s Sanctum will be the headquarters for this season’s villain, who has brought all the Chrome with them.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4: NPCs

It is always a good idea to know all the NPCs across the island as some of them have specific loot and services to help you get those sweet, sweet dubs. Here is a list of all the NPCs found in the current season:

  • Bao Bros – Inside the vault west of Coney Crossroads

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4: Exotics and Mythics

This season has three Exotics to kick off the carnage: Shadow Tracker Pistol, The Dub Shotgun and the Boom Sniper. The two Mythics included for Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4 will be Chug Cannon and The Herald’s Burst Rifle. Chug Cannon heals with Slurp Juice area-of-effect splash while The Herald’s Burst Rifle works similarly to the Striker Burst Auto from last season. This gun will be a free gun to obtain, but players will have to fight The Herald for it.
